Need a break to reloosen the fingers, back in a bit.

After losing the first game, when Texas just couldn't score, after having multiple chances. They stranded runners throughout the first part of the game. Then they just couldn't do anything in the last three innings, with the bats.

A Tulane nine hole hitter, with few hits on the season, takes a low inside fast ball out of the yard. His first homer of the year was the difference, in the 3-2 loss. Good outing for Mayes, but he gets the loss.

Then a shaky inning for Culbreth and some fielding mistakes, gave Tulane a three run first, in the second game. It looked like it could be a long day for the Horns again.

This time though the key hits came and with some help by Tulane mistakes, they not only tie the game, they take command of it.

Culbreth settles down, doesn't give up a run for his remaining five innings of work. Then Blake Wellman gives you three innings of shutout relief.

Texas cruised to the 10-3 win and a split of the two games, not really a doubleheader.

The series is even at 1-1, the rubber game is tomorrow, at high noon. Texas needs this game for some momentum going into conference play, especially since that first series is against TCU. They are the big favorites to win the Big 12, they are already 2-0 in conference play, with another win over WVU in Fort Worth today, 7-1.

Back tomorrow. :hookem2::bevo:

I missed today's games. Thanks for the summaries. Need to tighten up the relief pitching, fielding, and hitting. Team could be good if we get it together.
