Tuesday's loss

Anyone who thinks a midweek game is a good barometer for anything doesn't follow college baseball.

Over the course of a season you can expect to lose 2, 3 even 4 of these mid week games. You hate to lose one right out of the shoot but until a trend develops it is just a blip on the radar.

The fellas played like they were already thinking about Hawaii.

And Sea aggy played like it was the CWS. So all in all, the final outcome wasn't too unpredictable, nor do I find the game any cause for concern. Disgruntlement, yes. Concern, no.

Anytime a Texas team loses to any aggy named school it is cause for concern and much embarrassment.

I wouldn't say I am worried, but I'm a little surprised to see us with two home losses already this early in the season.

However, way too early to start freaking out.

Stanford has 2 losses as well, one to Rice and one to Vandy.

The series next weekend against the Cardinal should give us better clarity re what this team is made of.

Texas A&M Corpus lost to Indiana 14 to 3 in their own Classic. Not going to knock them but that is a team Texas needs to win at home no matter who is pitching IMO.

Ok, I would say after the series with Hawai'i that I am now worried. We need to find out bats soon and start to get our pitching in order as well.

Stay calm. More so than any sport on the 40 acres, with baseball the team you start with is not the one you end with. If you have a solid starting rotation, everything else can be fixed/developed.
