I was sitting there in DFF thinking we had a small crowd at the game...
looked at Big12sports.com I see the official numbers:

Minnestoa at #20 KSU - 12-6 KSU attendance 1526
Missouri State at Missouri - 11-6 Mizzou attendance 628
Arkansas-Little Rock at #14 Oklahoma - 14-5 OU attendance 1029
Prarie View A&M at #2 Texas - 6-0 UT attendance 6178
Texas A&M at Sam Houston State - 3-1 TAMU attendance 1517

Looking back to Sunday:

TAMU at Nebraska - attendance 2902
#20 KSU at #15 OU - attendance 1010
Kansas at Oklahoma State - attendance 844
Baylor at #2 Texas - attendance 7608
Missouri at Texas Tech - attendance 3485

All your small crowds are belong to us!

Cool info, thanks.

There is a very dedicated element to the baseball games and that is a good thing. Props to the die hards.

Yeah. Exhibit A as to why the Big 12 needs to move the conference tournament to Round Rock. OU can barely draw 1000 fans on a weekend when they're playing the 2nd place team in the conference. And OSU didn't even get 900 against Kansas. Texas had almost as many fans on Sunday as all the rest of the games combined. Pitiful.

The only teams that consistently draw good crowds are Texas and aggy. Baylor and Nebraska will draw when they are good (or IN BU's case when the Horns or aggy come to town) and OU will draw when Texas and Okie state are in town, but week in and week out it is just the Horns and the Ags who draw good crowds.

I have to say that I was at the game, and I cannot get enough of Longhorn Baseball this year.

This is a special year, a special team.

I moved back to Austin 20 years ago to be able to watch the horns, for those of you that live somewhere else, get back here as fast as you can.

Texanne...when you are not there, you are missed, but there in spirit. Also, I'm almost certain you're counted in that total.

Some of us live in Houston and can only make weekend games (If anyone wants to hire a 4th year attorney in Austin, let me know....).

Curious what attendance was for Saturday's game against Baylor. It looked packed. We should schedule a few more 8 pm Saturday starts. The atmosphere was great. It was like a football game with all the tailgates.

I agree on pushing back the Saturday starts. I make as many Saturday games as I can, but evening games would be a lot easier. Too much crap to do during the day on Saturdays. Don't know about 8 PM, but they could at least push it back to 6 or 7.

cnstoll58: I'm relocating back to Austin within a year and maybe this summer. By far the biggest reason is UT sports. There will be damn few baseball games that I'll miss.

I think you're being extremely unrealistic to try to get a tourney in Round Rock. I think what they should legitmiately try for is a tourney in Frisco. It really is one of the best minor league parks around, and a lot closer to B12 north country.

Or, maybe even scout a few minor league parks further north, depending upon population that would be interested. Is there a state of the art minor league park with fan support north of the metroplex, maybe Wichita Falls, Gainesville, etc?

If for some reason the okies don't come out for non okie games, then gradually move it south. just don't expect go come within 20 miles of Austin.

Dayton horn - Come on down!

You just won't believe how wonderful it is to live here in Austin again. You have to be careful to pick a good spot for a home since it is pretty crowded these days. But as long as you can get to campus in 20 - 30 minutes its all good.

And the tower has been lit orange with #1 on it at least twice this year - so far
