I am heading out to Tucson and Phoenix for my company to work Spring Trianing in March. I went out last year, so I have a little info already. I am looking for the best places(areas) to stay in Tucson and Phoenix. Last year I stayed at the Grace Inn Ahwatukee by I10 and liked the location just not a lot to do around there.

I want close to bars, places to eat, etc.
I am 27 and single.
I also want to play some golf when I am out there.
I would like to keep the hotels at 100-150 a night.

For Tucson, the best place to stay is the Marriott University Park on University Avenue. You're about 2 blocks from the UA campus and University Ave. has a few bars and restaurants. Plus it is close to 4th Avenue, which is the 6th Street of Tucson.

The gf used to work at Frog and Firkin, which is a great little restaurant/bar on University with a very nice patio for this time of year. Down on 4th Ave. my favorite restaurant is Bison Wiches, a sandwich place that is a little hole in the wall but very good. Gentle Ben's on University gets a good college crowd as do the bars on 4th.

From there you are about 5 minutes from Randolph Park, which has 2 golf courses (very good, and pretty cheap, for muni's), the zoo, and the ballpark. For a little more expensive golf I REALLY like Vistoso, but it'll be a 20-25 minute drive. For an affordable ($50-60) daily fee course though it really it outstanding.

Other options would be the Arizona Inn - awesome little place with great grounds, but more of a destination for a couple rather than a single guy going for Spring Training.

Nearer to Randolph Park are a Clarion and the "Lodge" or something like that, but I can't speak to their quailty. Further down Broadway is the Viscount, which isn't bad but it's not near bars/restaurants/fun.
