I am completely OK with the US enforcing its borders and limiting who comes here. But after we as a nation and a community have invested in educating children of immigrants, many of whom are capably and effectively pursing the American dream, maybe being in no hurry to depot folks who avoid criminal activity and contribute is not the worst of outcomes.
Building the wall will take a long time. Focusing deportation efforts on lawbreakers is a good way to start. We should understand that Trump, like all Presidents, has to say stuff to get elected that may not be prudent/practical policy when it comes time to allocate scarce resources.
