Trump puts the country on notice

"I actually think the right independent could win... It's not something I want to do... But if I don't see a person that, number one, is going to win -- that's tantamount -- I would certainly think about doing it after the show ends... I hope I don't have to. But I may -- absolutely. The number one thing for me is this country. Our country is in a lot of trouble. So I may. I hope I don't have to."

--- Donald Trump

Any idiot could see the number one thing for Donald is Donald. TO's quip, "I love me some me" is applicable to lots of self-absorbed celebrities, Trump being in the Top 5. He has a spotty record as a businessman, yet, has thrived on self-promotion. To me, Newt and Trump are one and the same.

I don't want Ron Paul to run as an Independent, but that would at least make more sense. Trump running is crazy. He is becoming a political freak show.

If it's true that Trump said he wouldn't run as an independent if Romney gets the nomination, then count me in on Romney.

I just had this vision of a scene in the Apprentice with Donald about to drop the hammer when all of a sudden Mitt barges in and says "Excuse me Donald, I've got this..."

I suppose the reason that the media continues to do Trump stories is because they know that if they have a "Trump" headline that people will click on the story. In that respect, the public is getting the quality of "news" that they deserve.

In the coming idiocracy, I guess we'll see more and more "news" stories about what Snookie thinks about Iran's nuclear program.

Brawndo. It's got what plants crave.

Maybe he'll still run if doing so somehow helps the show -- the nation being his number one concern and all.

Have we ever had an orange president?
