Barack Obama, the vacationer-in-chief. Best thing that could happen is if he goes on permanent vacation starting in January 2013.
Donald Trump observes that Barack Obama takes more vacations than any human being he has ever seen. He sure does take a lot of them.

This is such a dumb issue, IMO. Does anyone believe that any president ever really takes a "vacation?"

I'm sure Bush was working at the ranch, just as I'm sure Obama is working everywhere he goes too. The President never truly gets a vacation, regardless of party.
 
Agreed with GTT. Presidents on vacation are not abandoning all the cares and worries that come with the job. It follows them no matter if they are in Crawford, Texas or at Camp David, or right smack in the middle of Washington DC.
 
Yeah, second the no real vacation part. Presidents on "vacation" still spend much of their day receiving daily briefings and monitoring situations domestic and international. It's just a change of scenery and some enjoyment. Every president has done it and rightly so.
 
based on the overall shittiness of his work I would much prefer he stay on vacation, playing golf, and smoking as many cigarettes as possible.
 
I think the difference is perception from the public. Bush went to Crawford, the ranch. Obama goes to Martha's Vineyard, see any difference there? One is on his own personal property with a chainsaw in his hand, the other is on an island with a (fill in the blank) in his hand. Public perception says "that guy is at a pretty ritzy place, and I'm unemployed". Quite a difference. I'm not going to blast POTUS for his "time off", he has a lot of pressure, but he might choose a more public friendly destination. You know, connect with the common folks a little more.
 
at this point, some Republican would criticize Obama for going to the bathroom too much. I wonder how many of those who defended Bush's vacation during his wars now criticize Obama. I never criticized Bush for that. They never get a vacation.
 
As I understand it, the trips to Crawford weren't exactly about kicking back and vacationing. They seemed to be more of a "home office" situation.

I have a lot more issue with this idiotic bus tour through the midwest that the Presiden't steam inexplicably still tries to call a routine jobs tour and not the "look at me!! look at me!!!" antic that it is.

I never thought I'd say this, but Maxine's right. We have a job crisis on our hands and he's picking locations based on his re-election campaign and making us pay for it.
 
Bush was not going to Crawford to raise money. BHO goes to Marthas Vineyard to rub elbows with liberal money givers.

This along with "his very interesting developments" his investigators turned up when looking at the birth of Barak Obama pretty much show this blowhard to be someone listened to for entertainment purposes only. You'd get the same sort of "insight" from the more articulate among the street people hanging out in downtown Austin.
 
Bush going to Crawford or Reagan going to his ranch is different than this because of the economy. I am not complaining because it truly shows how tone-deaf the regime truly is. I thought he and first lady taking two separate jets 4 hours apart was a really nice touch, along with that round of golf on first day.

If I was his advisor I would tell him no more trips except for Camp David, but I'm glad I'm not. Sun Tzu always said to never go about destroying your enemy while he is busy destroying himself. In the case of Obama, I'd say that rule almost applies 24x7x365.
 
I'm confused? Somebody tell me exactly what the logic is:

1. Yeh, we know under Bush things went to **** but President Obama should have been able to fix things by now
2. Government cannot stimulate the economy or create jobs
3. Under President Obama the unemployment rate has stayed high and jobs aren't coming back
4. The DOW is falling (you should have seen that coming) and it is President Obama's fault...obviously
5. President Obama is on vacation and the DOW is falling....see I told you....he isn't doing what is needed
6. The President should stay on vacation b/c anything he does will only make it worse

I really don't know where the anti-Obama people stand. Just be honest and tell me that anytime you hear his name, see him, or hear him speak that you cringe inside and get angry. That you didn't vote for him and you aren't going to vote for him again. Then we can at least know where you are coming from.
 
they can create jobs, but they are all non revenue generating ones, and considering we have a 1.5 trillion shortfall for this year it is kinda hard to justify "creating" more of them.
