Trump 2024

Great speech by Trump tonight. Not sure how to describe it but I have rarely seen him keep it so eloquent. Yes he took credit for things accomplished in his first term but he seemed to be taking a calculated step away from the bombast he has become known for. Just serious down to business and making great points. It will be interesting to see the tone of his campaign.

If he can stick to out he would run the country and not give critics ammo with the personal insults he could over come any cheating we know the Demx will do.

Ok, I know that was intended to be funny but..
Never Gonna Give you up…?
You mean what? Our nation, our way of life, our freedom? Nope, not giving up. Trump has nothing personal to gain and everything to lose by fighting an enormously corrupt Oligarchy that pulls all the strings in Washington and globally (WEF, G20, Davos Group Rothschilds, Rockefellers etc..) and yet he continues to fight. It looked to me like he changed his tone a bit tonight to something that might be a little more palatable to even more people. I was happy to see that. No one else I have seen in the WH has had the spine to fight at all. (At least since JFK)

6721, I hope you're right. But my fear is that with DJT at the top of the ticket, the Dems will be energized to get out the vote against him, as they did in 2020. My personal opinion - the GOP would be better if DJT were the elder statesman, helping set the platform, and supporting a ticket headed by DeSantis. I guess we'll see as things develop.

On multiple occasions in the last week, he has attacked DeSantis. He will ultimately screw up 2024 for the Republicans.

I thought it was a pretty decent speech considering the source but it went on forever and was repetitive. I watched on Fox and after a while they cut away to talk about it while he was stilling talking. They thought it was getting stale. So did I.

Of course, I don't like him but I have a lot of patience for political rhetoric. Biden I can watch to see how bad it can get. Watching Biden is like watching a car race---you watch the boring running around in circles and wait for the crashes. Trump I watch for the whoppers and trying to figure out which brags are exaggerations and which ones are true and which ones are outright lies. Last night I liked the one about 1/8 inch of sea level rise over the next few hundred years. Sorry, but that is not what the climate change chicken littles are worried about.

Anyway, I worry that he is going to get indicted, will try to play Jesus the Martyr and inspire some of his admirers to engage in some unpleasantness. We have already seen physical attacks on Raphael Cruz and Senator Rand Paul and others. And that is just against conservatives. Left wingers are just as capable of mayhem. What comes next if the rhetoric gets ratcheted up some more? It took one actor with a grievance to wreck Reconstruction and elevate a loon to the White House. One commie ex marine with a cheap rifle got rid of another over rated president. what might happen now?

This is likely to get real ugly.

It seemed appropriate to put this here. They tried SOOOO hard to make this negative
Another Anti-Trump Narrative Implodes — Conveniently After Election Day
I can't decide whether this latest catastrophe is best described as a rat's nest or witches brew. The investigations by the House are going to be brutal. I ran this by the coffee klatch yesterday morning and was told the "big guy" in Hunter's laptop was not his pop but the "Russian installed ex president" and they looked at me like zombies when I told him he was elected by the Ukrainians and assisted from office with our tax dollars. There are two great sides in "our democracy" and neither listens to the other. Gonna get messy and then messier

LC,

Remember there are a lot of people that will die in the next 24 months, most of whom will vote 4-5 times in the presidential election.

I don't like Trump and want him to lose the nomination, but as usual, his most vitriolic critics are no better and often worse.

Depending on actual debate, I would like to see everyone drop out besides Haley and DeSantis. It would then become much closer for Trump. Then Haley and DeSantis should have another debate without Trump present. Declared winner of debate becomes nominee with other being named VP. It would be 50-50 then with Trump if not more of a lean to the non-Trump candidate.

To me, Halley is a RINO (Republican in Name Only) If she got the nomination, I would hold my nose and vote for her. I would prefer Trump, Desantis, Ramaswamy or Scott.

It does seem that is she is more moderate on abortion but what else has you putting her in the RINO camp?

The RINO label is meaningless nowadays. Back in the day, the label primarily applied to Republicans who actually took less conservative positions on issues. Now actual political positions have little to do with it. We have big fans of Trump (spent like a drunken sailor, anti-entitlement reform, pro-lockdown, anti-free trade, and well to the party's left on abortion, gender ideology, and guns) calling people who are far more conservative on policy "RINOs." It's a pretty absurd label at this point.

Agreed. RINO has come to simply be shorthand for "you don't agree with me on this issue, so I'll call you a RINO". Or in Paxton's case.... "you're calling me on my underhanded dirty deeds so I'll call you a RINO."

I don't believe this story. However, even if it was true, is this really coming from a guy who banged Stormy Daniels and became famous in part by very publicly cheating on his first wife (with Marla Maples) and having a cavalcade of skanks ever since?

Trash like this is why I will not vote Trump.

I do agree with Garmel that Trump likely had nothing to do with this rumor. Frankly, his personal focus is likely on his legal issues (the criminal prosecutions and the NY civil fraud action) more than on the campaign. It looks and smells like a Roger Stone story.
