Troy Aikman

I am not an Aikman hater. However, has anyone else noticed how often in each football telecast, apparently believing he is adding new analysis, he simply repeats (using 50 words) what Joe Buck has just said in 10 words? One of these days, I'm going to stop being lazy and make a YouTube clip of an example of it, because it's pretty funny after awhile.

Joe Buck, I find, adds commentary with a few words then Aikman follows with color but basically recycles what Joe just said. He's not really adding anything new to the discussion other than saying the same thing Joe just said; just uses different words. I wonder if others have taken notice? I think its hilarious and should make a video someday when I find the energy.

Virtually every color announcer is a former player. This is not a dig on Troy but most color guys must think because they played the game that what they're saying is so technical and difficult that the ordinary human can't understand it. It takes them longer to explain something because they don't have the ability to summarize nor do it with proper grammar. It's football and it's all they know. Even worse are the pre-game show "experts". Keyshon and Cris Carter want you to believe running a 5 yard out route is the sporting equivalent of curing cancer. Tom Jackson does a great job but gets overshadowed by the two loudmouths sitting next to him.

What I find annoying about him is how refers to someone using his name, then uses a pronoun to continue. Such as, "Troy Aikman, he uses bad grammar." Annoying, isn't it?

Otherwise I like his analysis. Buck is the one who would send me over the edge.

I take offense at how he callously and without regard or respect for the verb, leaves his participles dangling in the air with no proper or safe landing.
