Trooper Taylor Joins Luper @ Auburn

Didn't see this posted, but as of noon today Gundy has lost Trooper Taylor to Auburn as well. That's two solid recruiters that have just left the Okie Lite program. I think things could get interesting in the recruitment of Rollison considering Curtis Looper was the one recruiting him.

I know Auburn is saying they aren't looking to recruit Texas but something tells me that won't be the case. You've got Luper, Taylor and Chizik who are already familiar with the state. Malzahn may be as well from his brief stint with pig sooey.

My okie state buddy is pissed about this. Blames Gundy & his inconsistency w/ personnel matters for Taylor following Luper. Apparently Gundy gave Beckman the go ahead to interview but tried to put restrictions on his offensive staff doing the same. That backfired for coach I'm a Man.

Gene is doing a good job of putting his staff together. Seems like he has learned a lot from Mack.

Trooper is well regard and an excellent recruiter. I recalled Mack tried to hire him as the RB coach before we settled with Ken Rucker.

I first met Trooper Taylor while he was in high school at Cuero. He was competing in an event I was running at a track meet in Gonzales. You could tell even then that with his vibrant personality, he was going to be successful at whatever he tried to do. He has that finite ability to connect very well with young people. He will be a good draw for Auburn.

TT played on the same team with Robert Strait. TT was a pretty fair DB but I remember him best for his enthusisam. He was a "cheerleader" type who would come over to the Cuero side of the field and get the fans fired up.
A local man said TT was just like his Dad who died an untimly death of a hearth attack. Very intense type of guys, I suppose.

Bump...looks like i was right on Rollison. Glad to see Auburn come into Texas and go head to head with Okie Lite and some of the other programs for recruits. it's official, Rollison to to Auburn!!!

Great pick up and what a kick *** job Chizik is doing putting this staff together. Word is he had an in home with Emory Blake last night as well.

Auburn is my second favorite team, so to see them doing well in recruiting is a good thing. I think their recruiting Texas more is going to be huge for them. Plus i cant wait to see chizik bump heads with Big Flop Bob from time to time.

Trooper was a great recruiter when he was a freshman in college. He talked Robert Strait into going to Baylor. I know Strait ended up a dud but he was the most highly recruited running back in the state if not the nation that year
