Jump shot free throws worked for old school 76er and NBA HOFer Hal Greer - 80% FT over 15 seasons. The unconventional nature of using a jump shot discourages its use even for players such as Gary Johnson and T Thompson who would benefit.

how much money could Rick Barry make teaching these guys how to shoot free throws underhanded?

90%, was this for his entire career, or for just one season, I'm thinking just one season, anyway, can you imagine a whole team of Rick's shooting underhanded about 85%+?

watched rick's teaching video. awesome, especially the explanation that underhanded uses muscles that are not tired.

different muscles that have not been used in that game, and how you are totally relaxed at that point where you start your motion.

the other comment that was interesting was when he said if the ball gets over the rim, it's such a soft shot that it will almost certainly fall in.

made a believer out of me. If I could convince the kids to do it, I would have anybody shooting under 80% do it.

can you imagine the advantage we would have? If we averaged 85%, we would initimidate other teams into not even wanting to foul, which would lead to higher FG % for us, we might lose maybe 1 game.
