Does anybody have any inside info on this?

Not a great link, but I don't have inside rivals info...he's got a great coach, so it's hard to put it on him

The coaches of these huge NE prep schools don't seem to be too big of fans of their elite talents snubbing the blue blood east coast bball powers. I wonder who Hurley's favorite team is?

It says that he is still committed to Texas. It does mention that Myck would most likely follow Tristan to a different school. Both are still coming to Texas.

I think the coach is wrong for essentially trashing the kid regardless of the circumstances. He could have just said that it's a private matter between coach, player and team and left it at that. Obviously the coach has to have complete control of the players and team, but this sounds personal.

If the only means you have of controlling your team is to kick your best player off, I don't think that says a lot for your leadership qualities. Unless what TT said was a personal attack or offensive in some way, this seems like an overreaction.

Nobody's blaming Tsquared here to my knowledge. I here he's a great kid, his coach sounded pissed in that interview.

off topic, but when will we move away from these freaking retarded monikers? T-squared? i don't mind abbreviating names to their initials for the sake of saving effort while typing on a message board, but these goofy nicknames are just insipid. i heard someone refer to durant as k-smoove...made me want to vomit.

rant over. carry on...

I know nothing about the situation, but I was hoping that some of the basketball gurus like SL or Bob could comment on the other side of the story as presented by the Statesman.

"Dan Hurley is renowned for being tough on his players and on himself. He played for his father, a coach who was difficult to please, before moving on to Seton Hall University.

St. Benedict’s is one of the top teams in the country, undefeated until a recent a two-game losing streak. Before the losing streak, in a profile of Hurley by the New York Daily News, the school’s headmaster, Father Edwin Leahy said, “If there’s a gloomy side to find, he’ll find it.”

Hurley’s wife, Andrea Hurley, said, “It’s to the point that if he doesn’t think he’s going to lose, I worry.”"

Sounds like Hurley is quite a hardass. Not that Barnes isn't...

If this was an ou kid, we'd be calling them out for recruiting thug players. Since it's a Texas kid, it's either the coaches fault or "he's just a teenager."

Just sayin.
