We're planning a trip around the world. Been fortunate enough to travel all over, so I have a good base of knowledge when it comes to most areas. But we are taking with us two who have never been outside of the continental U.S.. So I want to make sure they have a great and memorable trip.
Anyone have experience planning a trip like this? Traveling in which direction is best ... going East or West? In my experience, it typically takes longer travel time when moving East, though West is harder to deal with regarding time zone changes (moving forward rather than backward). Which areas/towns should be considered musts and which areas (if any) should be avoided? When is the best time of year for this type of trip? Right now, we're thinking of doing it during August.
