Transferring Files Between Computers Question

I have two computers a) and b)

Computer a) has recently downloaded songs.
Computer b) has cd burning software.
Computer b) internet wont work on this comp.
Computer a) doesnt have disk drive or cd burner on it.
Question - How can I get songs from computer a) to computer b)?

Try a portable drive that goes into the USB. They are about $20 and relatively fast.

How much memory does one of those flash sticks hold? For example, if I had 500 songs that I wanted to move from my computer to my laptop, does a flash stick make sense?

I've seen flash memory sticks that hold up to a gig of data. Most of less than that. depends on what you want to pay.

You could just pull the harddrive from Comp A and install it as a slave drive to Comp B. Rip all the CDs you want and then put it back into Comp A, reformat it and wipe it clean.

It would be a bit of a hassle but probably no more than buying a flash stick and manually porting everything over.

flash memory sticks are great here, or spend 100-150 on an external USB hard drive to transfer files. From then on download all songs to external.

As long as the computer you want to reformat has a CD drive most operating system CDs are bootable so just stick the CD in, restart the computer, tell it to boot from the CD and then you can easily figure it out from there. The only problem you could run into is the computer not being set to boot from a CD. This is easily fixable if you push the hotkey on startup that takes you to the bios (usually the key will be listed in the top right corner when you boot your computer). Change to the boot order to disk drive, CD, hard drive. Then you should be able to boot from a CD and use the operating CD to format your computer.

Or you could just buy a $30 - $40 CD burner from Fry's and install it in computer A in 5 minutes or less.

Its very easy to install and comes with the software you need.
