Traffic Ticket Question

I got a ticket for 45-in-a-35. However, the next time I drove down that street, I noticed that the speed limit is actually 30. I'm wondering, is that a trivial issue that wouldn't be significant or would it be grounds for getting the ticket dismissed?

I do recognize that I am guilty, but am willing to get off on a technicality. I've already promised my wife to change my ways and slow down, so the ticket has had the intended effect, other than stoking up the governmental coffers.

Can they then charge you for going 15 over the limit? I doubt it but damn, that would suck.

Yeah, I think you should double-down on that "take a chance" approach and go for it. Then report back on how much they stuck you for the 45-in-a-30 ticket

I have never challenged a ticket in court so I really have no idea, but I very much doubt you will get out of this ticket based on this technicality. And if I were a judge, I'd probably slap you with the larger ticket simply because you wasted the court's time in trying to get out of it for this reason.

Why would they dismiss your ticket? You were speeding, regardless of the posted limit. Either pay the ticket or get permission to take defensive driving.

If it was in Lakeway they will probably throw your *** in jail for disputing the police officer's version of the facts.
