I thought I read that tOSU sold their 3rd tier rights several years ago for around 100mil. I thought I also read that the Big-10 network is tier 2 rights. Reason I'm asking is that someone said the Big-10 controls all TV rights. Could someone help me on this.
The B1G and Pac-12 have consolidated TV rights (Tier 1-3). Deloss Dodds stated that in the Tulsa World interview. There is talk of the SEC doing the same for a conference network.
I'll tell you what: If the Tier 3 deal for Texas works out well for Texas, there is no telling what other schools might want to take advantage of the Texas model.
I keep hearing from those that get the LHN that it is a recruiting monster advantage.
If the B2 is the only conference that allows a "10" school to develop its own network ...? Might be interesting down the road if the LHN pay out the mega-millions on slick paper.
