scholarship at UT
leave UT to play somewhere else
Why? playing time? no. going pro? not for the money...no.
there must be academic problems right? not from what i've heard about these girls
there must be a problem with the coaching staff right? this is where i'm at right now.
aren't they the only pitchers though? erin pitched her freshman year, but now she is the only one on the roster right? the incoming freshmen must be good enough to make her believe that she wasn't going to be pitching over them...? if this is the case...great, but if there is a bigger problem....that's where my concerns come in. i hope the players do very well wherever they end up, but i just find it a little disconcerting that our pitching staff takes such a hit in one off-season and a lot of people think "it's normal."
I wonder too 4th and 18. I don't like to be critical of our coaches but they didn't respond when I told them about our pitcher Kirsten Shedd who did a great job at Sinton and would have loved to have gone to UT and she is doing great at Junior College. And now we have lost 2 of them in the period of months. That is alarming.
B. Luna is the real deal (Bowie HS and Round Rock Blaze Gold). She will come right in and be great!
Also - Texas has Kim Bruins coming in next year from the Cal Cruisers.
Brittany Barnhill left for one reason - and no that wasn't to be a batter when she wasn't Pitching.
She left to attend the same school as her brother (Ole Miss... I think). He is a TE and got no - or minimal love - from the Longhorns..... their father had a lot to do with the transfer.
Brittany's brother Taylor is still in high school. Class of 2010. I believe he is a back-up quarterback which could explain a lack of interest from Texas at this time. Remember that Jevan Snead left Texas to start at Ole Miss because he wasn't getting much playing time behind Colt.
I think B left for reasons not related to where her brother will play.
A couple of years ago, I sent an e-mail to Coach Clark (whom I admit I've never met) telling her about Temple College's Lauren Eckermann, who was second in the nation (Division I juco) in strikeouts. I never even got a response from her.
