it's next to New Braunfels

you have to drive through Austin to get to the Backyard. You have to drive through San Marcos to get to Gruene. Hardly Austin.

seriosuly though I live in South Austin and it takes me about 20 to get to the Backyard and about 30 to get to Gruene.

I love G.H. so much. nothing like it on a spring/summer day, sweating my butt off. Reckless Kelly at Gruene Hall was one of the best I've ever seen.

Not next to New Braunfels, Gruene is a historical district inside New Braunfels.

Oh, and Iove it when those polka bands play at Wurztfest in Austin.

The Backroom killed back in the 80s. It wasn't just headbangers, saw the Call, SMithereens, among others. It was an intimate setting, as they say.
