Top 10 Coaches on the Hot Seat

I guess I'm mildly surprised that Coach "I'm a Man, I'm 40" Gundy isn't on there, but since nobody expects anything from okie state other than T. Boone Pickens I can see why he was overlooked.

Gundy pretty much turned in a fairly average oSu season. If the Pokes fail to go bowling this year, he may be back on that hotseat (if not flat out fired). But I'd say after last season he's not under too much pressure.

Unfortunately Robinson is at the top of that list....

On a side note, I was a little surprised to not see a early entry for Mike Sherman at Texas agricultural & mechanical college... you know how aggy likes to be on Top 10 lists.

I have no idea why Ty Willingham isn't higher on that list. No one expects him to be coaching the U-Dub this time next season.

Also, Chuck Long at #3? Can 7-17 in two seasons really get you in that much trouble at SD State?

Its funny to see Charlie on there for the simple fact that he will not get fired anytime soon no matter how bad ND is this year.

Much is expected of Coach Gundy this year, and especially next. If he doesn't win 8 games this year, he's out. Our schedule is much easier this year than last, and this team appears to be better than last. I do predict that he wins 8 games, unless the leader of the Zac-Attack gets injured of course. Needless to say, Gundy will be sweating it out this year in Stillwater.

Edit: had too much fire water in me last night so post edited to soften things up some.

I realize 'poke fans are excited about their new stadium expansion but many of them seem to think that expanding a stadium from 45,000 to 60,000 seats is going to make them a contender. That might be a bit optimistic since they could only fill the 45,000 seat venue once a year when either Texas or OU was in town.

Pickens can pour as much money as he wants on OSU, but the "legacy" of their program is a sub-500 winning percentage. Some recruits may be impressed by the new locker rooms & training center but whatever small advantage they may have over the powerhouse schools will be short lived. It may help them in head to head recruiting battles against the likes of Tech or Colorado & maybe they'll sway some kids from Oklahoma to play in Stillwater instead of Norman, but the top blue chips aren't likely to sign up for a school with a "legacy" that includes a sub-.500 all time winning percentage, an empty trophy case & almost no presence whatsoever in the NFL today.

Pickens might not have a problem dropping a quarter billion bucks into okie state, but in the end I suspect the result will be a nice looking stadium that's a little over half full most Saturdays and continued 4th & 5th place finishes in the Big XII south.

There was a time last season when I was hoping that Robinson would get canned so we could potentially hire him back as DC. I'm not sure that we ever would have done it, bit I liked the idea.

Then we got Muschamp and all was good.

I still like Robinson a lot. Of all the coaches that I have actually seen on the field during Mack's time here, Greg was probably my favorite. Sounds like Muschamp will be similar in many ways.
