Tony is leaving Gibbs Racing

Stewart is loyal to GM. I don't blame him at all for wanting out of a Toyota. Have you ever noticed he never seldom if ever mentions "Toyota" during his interviews

Probably a good move for both. They were a great partnership for a decade and Tony is trying to secure his future after racing. For him to be able to buy 50% of a company that is already going rather than starting from the ground up is a huge plus for him.

JGR, who is already on top, gets to move forward with one of the most promising young drivers in a long time.

I am going to hate to see Tony go, because I have always been a fan, but I will still root for the #20 and hope Tony does well at Stewart Haas.

This will have a happy ending...for Gibbs, but not Tony. Tony will struggle and Shrub and Logano will shine as the two most promising young drivers in NASCAR.

While it may not do wonders for Tony's winning on the track behind the wheel, it will do wonders for Tony because he will have ownership for even after he drives. Don't underestimate that. I have never been a Smoke fan, but he is past his prime. As is Jeff Gordon, of whom I am a fan. Jeff's had his last gasp, and Smoke will have one too. Don't get me wrong, they still know how to drive cars, but the young guns will continue to push past them.
Also, while I like Gibbs the man, I can't abide his decision to go to Jap cars. Chevy is the all time winner in NASCAR, $$$ was the reason he changed. upfront cash.

Last year there was a story on where the cars in NASCAR are manufactured. Not the ones that actually race, but their namesakes.

CHEVY
DODGE
FORD

were either made in Canada or Mexico.

TOYOTA...

...the only car Made In The USA.

Funny, but that's just because of the U.A.W. contracts that the American companies have to abide by.

I'm a Smoke fan, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. I think the Toyota thing had a LOT to do with it. Plus, I think it would be hard to have that idiot Goober Jr. as a teammate. Cheeseburger is 36 or 37 so this is a good move for him to become an owner now -- he can't drive forever.
