Tony Allen's 'head injury'

What a joke...

I guess some players will try anything when they're shooting less than 20% for the game.

I have a feeling the refs might not be as quick to call a foul in his favor next time. The old, "fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me".

I don't think it worked. It's completely unbelievable that the officials watching the replay didn't all know that Allen was faking the head injury. I think they (incorrectly) just judge the action to be a flagrant foul - officials fairly often call flagrant fouls on fast break layups based on the result rather than the act, even though when a guy is flying through the lane almost any sort of hack or grab has the potential to mess up his midair balance, even stuff the rulebook doesn't actually define as flagrant.

I just meant I think that the way Allen fell, Manu was going to get a flagrant regardless, I don't think the pretend injury contributed to the refs' judgement.

When a defender purposefully fouls to stop a layup, I think the flagrant/regular judgement is made far too much on the whether the offensive player was able to keep his footing or not rather than on what action the defender took.

They should have called it on Chalmers last night when he tried grabbing Hibbert around the arm and waist. Luckily he was able to get the 3 pt play but intentional fouls and faking fouls are bs. Just play the game. If the ball goes off your fingertips just admit it and play on. If caught cheating a player should be suspended and fined. That would bring back sportsmanship real fast.
