Tonight's Pitchers

Sounds like we are going with Taylor Jungmann. I am a bit surprised as Cole has really been the ace of the staff this year.

I thought Green as well, but only b/c he normally throws on Saturday, so he would have been on his regular throwing schedule...save Jungmann for the Finals. Augie knows best.

I love the way this is setting up:

Regional:
Game 1 - Workman (win)
Game 2 - Green
Game 3 - Jungmann
Game 4 - If necessary (?)

Super Regional:
Game 1 -
Game 2 -
Game 3 - If necessary

I think Cole is a better choice since ULaLa is more of a team that likes to get on base and hit-and-run, steal, etc. Cole pounds the strike zone very well and will make them earn their way on base. Having Loy back in the infield makes Cole a better pitcher becuase he does get a lot of ground balls.
Taylor is more suited for the big fly-oriented teams with his power and slight wildness. He made a really good LSU team look horrible last year in the CWS because they could not stay disciplined at the plate. I like the idea of Taylor going Sunday to hopefully finish things off. His arm angle and movement are very difficult to adjust to, especially if you are seeing him for the first time.

for game 4, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing us start staton thomas with a very short leash and bring in ruffin for 4, 5 or 6 innings if needed.

Don't think for a second that Chance Ruffin can't be an effective starter. I have heard in a previous life he wasnt too bad.

We win tonight and this ones over. No one is coming out of the losers bracket with their 4th and 5th pitcher and beating us 2x in Austin.
