Tomorrow's starter

if atm holds on, looks like it will be Riley Boening, then pitcher by committee. the only guys i don't wanna see out there will be kasparek, wood and ruffin. we need them for bigtime innings come next weekend.
 
Ruffin's start was Wednesday at 9am too, right? That is 4 full days of rest. I would love to see him throw for 5 innings.
 
I think its more important to set up the rotation for the regional, and I don't want Ruffin to have to pitch on 5 days rest after pitching on 4 days of rest.
 
Under the circumstances this game might make a difference between hosting and not hosting. I hope Augie does all he can to win.
 
Don't they announce the regional hosts tomorrow? Will the championship game have an affect on their decision? If not, then I would definately start Boening and rest Ruffin.

The decision for us to host or not to host a regional was made about an hour ago.

i heard ruffin has a blister on his throwing hand, but pitched through it against mizzou. if so, i think we definitely need to rest him tomorrow.

boening has been rocky recently but he's had some good outings this year and is very capable of going 6 or 7 and winning tomorrow
 
We're gonna need more arms when we get to omaha (see what I did there?). With Wood and KK having marked turn-arounds lately, I say give Boening the start and see what happends. If he comes out on fire, we've got a long-relief go-to that isn't cole green and potentially a losers-bracket starter that we've been missing. If he sucks, well, no great loss - McCrory, Shinaberry and Thomas are gonna need to pick up some slack.
 
it doesn't matter. the selection committee has already chosen the sites. they're announced sometime tomorrow afternoon while we're playing for the tourney title.

a tournament title is always nice, but not worth giving everything you've got to get it.

Goo, I agree that the sites have already been chosen and that the tourney title won't affect that. I wonder, however, if a win today might affect whether we are a #1 or #2 seed in the regional?

70...shouldn't matter about seedings. It will only affect automatic or at large. That is truly why they have to wait until tomorrow to announce the completed field...because they are waiting to find out who the automatic bids are.
