Tom Izzo

Bruce Pearl would have to be 1a. He's playing with 6 scholarship players and had the balls to suspend and stick with the punishment of 4 players including his best scorer. He beat a hell of an Ohio State team last night.

KU may have choked against Northern Iowa, but Bill Self is the best combination of offensive strategy, defense, player improvement, and recruiting in college basketball.

Izzo is one of the few that you really don't want to play against in an important game. Your team and coach better bring their A+ games.

Izzo has been to 9 Sweet 16s in 15 years. In those games he is 7-2. He has been to 7 Elite 8s and is 5-1 with a TBD. He has been to 5 Final Fours 2-3. And in 2 Title games he is 1-1

He is the REAL "Tournament Tom".

Izzo's teams always hit the boards well, pressure the ball in the half court well, and disrupt the opponent's flow in the paint. It is never easy going against MSU. He also usually gets good guard play. Finally, Izzo always puts the Spartans through a meat grinder OOC sched. They are ready for whatevs. Tough to beat.

All of this is making me more upset that the Longhorns beat Michigan State earlier this year and ended up a one-and-done.

Putting that aside, I agree with the comments about Izzo. The guy is a stud. It sounds like Oregon may be making a push to hire him, but I would be surprised if he leaves Michigan State.
