Todd Wright

That's Right

Is there any way we can start some sort of movement to get Todd Wright into the College Basketball Hall of Fame or something? The things this guy has done to some of our players is flat out AMAZING, and I'm sure Rick Barnes will be the first to tell you how invaluable Todd Wright is to this program. That guy is one of the true unsung heros of college basketball.

I don't really know any of y'all over here on the basketball board, but Bob and SLX, you guys seem to know a lot about the program and basketball in general. What do y'all and others think of Wright's impact on, and importance to this team, and program?

What?! This isn't about him being more deserving than Rick, I've posted on many many threads that Rick is an elite coach in CBB. He is my favorite coach at Texas, possibly ever. Rick Barnes will be in CBB HOF. This is a thread about Todd Wright's importance, and him being an unsung hero, not something against Rick Barnes.

Todd Wright is as important as any assistant coach in college.

Barnes certainly understands this and takes very, very good care of him.

It's not Rick Barnes vs.Todd Wright. Todd's a strength and conditioning coach -- maybe the best. But I think that you're stretching it to find a way to put him in the HOF. I understand that Dick Vitale is in the HOF -- I'm not particularly excited about that, either.

Nobody thinks more of Todd Wright than I do, but I don't think HOF for him.

I suppose it's possible, but how many assistant coaches are in there? (None I can think of.)

It's funny that you bring up Dickie V because that was going to be my next point, surely we can find a place for Wright if Dickie V is being enshrined.....

Say this for Dickie V... he's nationally known and recognized. Todd Wright, not so much.

I can imagine RB having great fun at TW's expense over this...
