All the links from Thursday are still good. The Tech video is up and running

K-State vs OSU is on FSN

OU vs Aggy is is on ESPN HD at 2;30

Need a win today to try and keep pace in the conference. Bad loss last night and today will be tough unless we score some runs early and often. The pitching is thin, but so is theirs and we should have better quality you would think. No Knebel today hurts.

A bad loss and bad Tech fan behavior to follow. Texas needs to just shove it down there throat and beat Tech on the field.

Yes, the sound is not on, it was earlier, they are having problems it seems.

Also Mizzou just blew a 6-2 lead on Baylor in the 6h. It's tied at 6 all now in the 6th.

Jacquez just gave up an opposite-field solo home run. Tech is up, 1-0. It's going to be a LONG day. My money is on Tech winning.

Their right handed batters hit to the opposite field with the wind while our lefties hit to opposite field into the wind.

Thus the 1-0 Tech lead in the bottom of the 2nd.

Jacquez is wild with a walk and HBP. Then we get a routine dp ball and Marlow makes a bad throw and pulls Silver off the bag.

First base ump calls him ump and team is in the dugout and then home plate ump overrules the call and we come back out to the field.

Got to make that relay throw, we will see now if it costs us.

Good lord, the inning ended on a double-play, then after the players left the field, the coach complained, and talked the first base umpire into consulting with the home plate umpire, who overturned the out at first base and the inning continues.
Lubbock really sucks. Total bush league occurances.
So was it actually the third base umpire who overruled the first base umpire? How could he see that play?
Then the batter was called out on pitch at the knees, and he complained to the umpire who did nothing-could have ejected the guy for arguing strikes and balls.

The lead off man for Tech Magruder is a drama queen. He throws his bat away on called strike to try and steal ball four. Done it in every game. Then gets rung up and goes nuts again.

He should have been tossed.

We have done nothing in the early innings of each game this series and it's just a headscratcher.

Jacquez has struggled, but only given up one wind blown homer that barely got out. Tech 1-0 in the bottom of the third.

Jacquez walks another, but we finally execute a routine double play 4-6-3 to end the inning.

Tech 1-0 after three complete

Endeavor to score runs Horns.

Horns break through finally with four straight singles, a HPB, and a Tech error to score four runs. Marlow and Silver were trying to get safety squeezes down and couldn't then singled.

Texas leads 4-1 in the 4th.

Baylor completes the sweep of Mizzou in Columbia 12-7 and now goes 12-0 in conference play. That loss yesterday may come back to haunt us big time.

Nice inning for Jacquez, he allows another walk, but works out of it.

Horns lead 4-1 after 4 complete.

If we can squeeze one more inning at least out of Jacquez, then bring in Curtis and probably use Milner as a closer.

Of course continuing to score runs would help too.

Maitland leads off with an infield hit and then is caught stealing and of course Weis follows with another single.Walsh pops up for out #2.

Pitching change. Marlow walks and another pitching change. I think Tech is going to use more different pitchers in this game than we have all series. Passed ball moves up the runners, but Silver grounds out to end the inning.

Horns lead 4-1 to the bottom of the fifth. We really could have used those runs. This lead is precarious at best.

Jacquez continues to walk on the wild side hitting the first batter on the first pitch, then goes 3-1 on the next hitter.

Then he settles down and retires the side with no damage.
Texas still leads 4-1 after five complete

Jacquez has really good stuff if he could just command it.
Need more runs.

With one out Stell beats out an infield hit and Etier follows with a single to left. Stell can really run and advances to third, good play by the left fielder holds Etier at 1st.

Pitching change. Payton lines to left for a SF that scores Stell, but Maitland K's to end the inning.

Horns now lead 5-1 to the bottom of the 6th.

First Tech hitter singles to left, then a ground ball deep in the hole and for some unknown reason decides to throw when he had no chance to get the runner and throws it away.

Runners at 2nd and 3rd no outs. A ground ball scores a run, then another walk and a chopper to Wies and he nearly throws it away, but it pulls Silver off the bag.

Bases loaded and that's it for Jacquez as Peters comes in to pitch to the lefty. Hold on to your hats it's back to a dangerous game again. Horns still up 5-2.

Peters gets Magruder to line to center to end the inning.

As we take a deep breath Horns still lead 5-2 after 6 complete.

Best outing of the season for Jacquez, we really need to see more of that. Oh yeah, still need more runs.

Weis leads off with another infield hit, then for the third time today we can't get a bunt down and instead get a single this time by Walsh.

Maitland K's as Walsh steals second, pitching change.
Runners on 2nd and third with one down.
Got to get something here.

An intentional walk to Silver loads the bases. Felts makes them pay by singling to right center scoring two huge runs.

Texas leads 7-2 now, Stell who looks like a real player to me lines a single to left to make it 8-2. Why Augie ph Shaw for him yesterday is still a mystery to me.

That's all we get, but that is what we needed, needed that yesterday. Horns lead 8-2 now at stretch time.

As expected here comes Curtis in to pitch.

These goober announcers have not figured out all series that the swatch as they foolishly call it on the back of the uniform is to let air in and keep the player cooler.

The basketball uniforms had them too. The announcers for this series are not only true homers which I expect, but really clueless about baseball.

Back to the game Curtis walks one but retires the side.
Now 8-2 Horns after 7 complete.

Lets score a few more and take every bit of doubt out of this game.

With two outs Walsh and Marlow serve tennis lob shots down the line in left for a double and a single and scores another run to make it 9-2 Horns.

Silver doubles to right center for I believe is the first fly ball we have hit to right field all day to use the wind, pitching change the 7th of the day for Tech that matches the number of pitchers used by the Horns all series.

It's 10-2 now and it looks like we will win in our third road series in a row. That game yesterday still hurts though.

Etier has had a true adventure in the field this series. First Tech hitter pops up to left and Jordan overruns it falls and is nearly gets hit in the head by the ball.

Curtis walks the next batter and then Etier makes a great play to get a force at second. Then Etier field a hopper that he underhands from like 15 feet to 2nd high, but Marlow is able to come back down on the bag for the out as a run scores. Might have gotten a dp with a good overhand throw, will never know. Then Curtis gets a fly ball to end it.

Horns lead 10-3 to the ninth as announcers tell us during the commercial break there will be no highlight package and no coaching show, just going to talk about Easter.

That sums up Tech in a nutshell.

Various hits highlighted by Weis's two homer to left makes it now
14-3 Texas.

Will that be enough Haus? I think it will, what is the over/under on how fast they will leave this broadcast after the third out? I give it 30 seconds maybe.

Also can't help but wonder what Noel the girl giving the goober announcers the time cues looks like?

Hey, it's 14-3 a guy's mind wanders and wonders.

Curtis gives up a lead off single but nothing more and Texas wins 14-3 as fittingly Etier goes into the hole to make a nice play for the last out.

Got to love it they just cut off the announcer in mid sentence. Production people say enough of this crap!

OSU beats lowly Kansas again 11-1 as Frank Anderson tries desperately not to become a pitching coach somewhere else next season. Looks like an uphill battle for Frank.

Ou continues to suck at Collie, jumping out to early leads just to give them up as Aggie leads 5-3 in the 7th.
As mentioned earlier Baylor just keeps winning, beating Mizzou again on the road 12-7

Finally, going home to the Disch, been awhile hasn't it?
We are 7-2 after nine road conference which is great.
Of course we haven't played the other top two teams in the conference yet, but have 4 of 6 of those games at home.

Should have been 8-1, that game yesterday was just
agonizing and really hurts us as it looks like we will drop not only a game to Baylor, but also to Aggy and be tied with them for second.

Nice to get win and win third straight conference series.

7-2 over the first nine is good considering all have been on the road but it really should be 8-1 and I am still concerned about the long term impact on Knebel of last night.
