Another great inning by French and OU is retired in order.
Horns still 4-0 to the fifth.
The looks on Sooner fans and in the dugout are priceless as is the now almost constant broadcaster whining. I wish we could get up big on these guys just to hear the pearls of wisdom that would spew.
Horns plate one more with a hit and thanks to the OU first baseman that after Maitland beats out an infield hit shows the ump he has the ball as a run is scoring. Nice play.
We botch a potential double play that would have gotten us out of the inning and kept the no-hitter intact. Then two singles score two for OU. Fittingly fat boy Sooner that showboated after his homer Friday strikes out.
A single and one of those dreaded wind blown homers makes it 7-4 now. Another single and French is done, Peters in to pitch. I got to believe that #29 is starting to loosen up.
We need to keep playing add on, wow it sure feels good to be able to say that.
A HBP, FC, a steal on a pitch out that the catcher one hops the throw, another walk has runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. Pitching change here comes the Magnifico and his triple digit fastball.
Let's light this guy up and end this the right way.
Weis is caught stealing third and Silver grounds out to end the threat. Harmon is tossed, he went balistic as Harmon can do. I don't know if he was arguing the call or that he got tossed so quickly.
Anyway, to the bottom of the 8th, Curtis in to pitch, need this inning to get to Knebel. Horns lead 7-4.
First batter bloops a single off Payton's glove, but Marlow picks it up and throws a laser strike to Etier to get him at 2nd. Great play. The next two Sooners are retired.
To the ninth leading 7-4 with Knebel waiting in the wings most likely.
Horns plate a couple more with two hits sort of and Sooner weirdness. Shallow flyball to left that should have been caught drops for a double. Single brings him home and centerfielder makes a little league throw that allows batter to move to 2nd. Then the 2nd baseman on shorthop line drive tries to sell the ump he caught it on the fly and flips it to 2nd base like completing a double play eschewing the sure out at first. I like the word eschewing.
FC brings home the other run.
Winning time now, Horns lead 9-4. Curtis remains in.
