World's Largest Solar Power Plant Coming to Arizona in 2011.

Did you hear about the guy in California who had to cut down multiple redwood trees in his yard so that his idiotic neighbor could get more sunshine on his solar panels... even though the trees outdates the installation of the solar panels.

Homeowner had criminal charges filed against him for not cutitng trees down.

Hillarious watching the environmentalist fight each other over hwo is the "greenest."

I just looked up that story, and while it is a cute little anecdote, I don't see how it refutes the OP's assertion that solar power can/will become a significant energy source.

Whatever "point" the pundits will make by using the story, it is going to be a wild concoction of misdirection/non-sequitur/anecdotal evidence, e.g.,

Someone in California had to cut down trees to comply with environmental legislation,
Cutting down trees is not environmentally friendly,
Therefore, environmental legislation is not environmentally friendly.

i don't think they should build huge complexes like that. those solar complexes are environmentally unfriendly just based upon the land use. what should be developed are high powered small solar panels and generators that can be connected to individual houses and power the house. i think that right there would cut down the usa's greenhouse gas emissions by half.

Another important, if small, contribution to solving our power problems.

And I second turning Oklahoma into a solar field.

Is it better to invest in renewable resources like Solar Panels to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars? Or should hundereds of billions of dollarsbe spent helping fund supporters of Islamic Terrorism and fighting wars in regions where our primary concern is fossil fuel production above all else?

You can invest the money, or spend the money apparently...

unitl there is a gas station on every corner that sells biodiesel, ethanol, plugs for my car battery and/or hydro pumps, then we MUST do both.
