To the Guy Who Caught the Foul Ball in L4 Today...

...my hat is most definitely off to you, buddy.

I was watching from the 1st base side when that ball was smoked down into the lf stands, then at the last second, this hand just shoots out of nowhere and snags it. No bobble. Nothing.

I couldn't contain myself. I involuntarily yelled out "Oh!" when the ball was caught, then started describing it to anyone who would listen.

It was a thing of beauty. I've been going to games at the Disch for over 30 years, and that's the best catch I've ever seen by a fan (in the Disch, or anywhere else).

Only one question...How does that hand feel?

I think that ball would have creamed a toddler if he hadn't caught it. I'm really glad he did, because from my vantage point some little girl was going to be hurt.

definitely a hell of a couch... well deserved ovation!

That was pretty awesome to see, but I was too thinking how much his hand must have hurt.

Fun game to watch all around today.

I was sitting in L3, & I agree that guy made one helluva snag. Shortly before that one was smoked into our section that just missed a man and woman. Ended up ricocheting off the step in the aisle.

I was the guy who caught the ball and thank you for your posting. It was wild how it went down. I was laying on my side on the birm and I noticed that a ball was coming at me. I could not believe that i snagged that ball.

By the way, It did not hurt at all. I actually gave the ball to my 5 year old boy who was looking at me like I was the man. It was awesome! I was searching to see if there was any video on the net but have not found anything.

Thanks again!

Awesome catch Dave and I hope you kid enjoyed the ball.

I always worry for all the little kids running around in the berm over there.

Fun game to watch? JESUS, it was torture! I have never seen so many foul balls in my life, and we couldn't avoid their infield all game long.

My first game at the "new" Disch, and I bring 8 family members along for the ride. They were bored silly.

Oh, well. Most of them are baseball fans, and know it happens now and again.

good stuff, dave. i threw a stanford homerun ball from behind the rightfield fence to second base and wouldn't you know it, the damn thing managed to roll the rest of the way into their dugout.

eat that, cardinal.

i like your story more. i have to stop drinking
