Trust me, you are spot on about a lot of the kids that go to the Ivy League. As bright as they are, they've lived pretty sheltered lives and that stymies empathy for different types of people with different backgrounds that fosters intellectual openness. But, and this is a BIG but, you have to take every one individually.

What we really need to do is stop putting them into governmental offices. Too bad common sense people here in fly-over country don't have a say in their elections.
