I'm at the Bellaire vs. Madison district game right now and TMG is straight sick. There have been some insane passes. He is either hurt or sick because he isn't in the best mood. So fast with the ball. Cardinals lead by 3 with just over a minute until the half.
WOW! What a game. Madison lost their lead and was down 3 with less than 30 seconds in the game. Before the final possession, Bellaire couldn't connect at the FT line to ice the game. The crowd stood on their seats as Mason-Griffin brought the ball up the court for the final possession of the game.
Got em! TMG drained a fall-away three to tie the game. On the inbounds bass, Madison stole the ball and layed it in at the buzzer to stun Bellaire. The crowd was insane.
I got to meet the Mason-Griffins and they couldn't have been nicer. You can read my full write up at Bust The Clock
ghost, that's cool you think so highly of TMG. You should be thrilled to find out you'll get to see a lot more of him over the next few years. He'll be suited up for Jeff Capel and the Sooners, but at least he will play at the FEC twice a year.
Seriously, SLXpress had spoken highly of the kid for the last year, so I wasn't surprised to hear of your glowing first-hand account. The only reason this kid hasn't gotten more national hype is b/c of a knee injury suffered last year, which I believe hampered his exposure.
Yes, I know he is going to OU. I was disappointed when he first decided to go to Oak Hill since I had yet to watch him the past three years here in Houston. As I posted on another thread, I was presently surprised and excited to find out he was staying home in Houston for his senior year.
I have seen him three times this year so far and filmed two of the games. Unfortunately, the only film I took last night was from my phone. I plan to go to as many of his remaining games as possible. District 20-5A is wide open right now. Bellaire was the favorite, but they have dropped games to Madison and Chavez recently. Madison need this win bad.
The Madison vs. Chavez match up next week will be dynamite. Two of the area's best point guards, TMG and Jamal Fenton (New Mexico commit) for Chavez go at it.
