Tivo problem?

My friend just got a new Series 2 Tivo, I think it's a Phillips model. I have previously owned the Sony Series I Model. Anyway, it seems that sometimes the color fades out and goes black and white for about 30 seconds and then comes back to color. I had another friend who had a Hughes Series 2 Tivo and had the same problem. Has anyone else had this problem and know what may be causing it and how to fix it?

See if you can determine the make, model, and software version on the TiVo. There is also a known problem with color issues on a few units. In some instances hitting PAUSE then PLAY will remedy the issue.
