I cant believe it.
Lavelle Hawkins from Cal.

Anyone know anything about him? 2nd team all ACC, 3,365 yards total...

Chris Carter made a very good point.

Tenesee has a bunch of 2,3,4 WR's..

We dont have a 1. You need that 1 to help develop your 2's and 3's.

Lavelle Hawkins was better than DeSean Jackson last year. Jackson told his coach he did not want to play near the end of the year because he didn't want to get hurt. Tedford wouldn't even speak Jackson's name in interviews, but spoke highly of Hawkins.

Why would the Titans need wide receivers, anyway? Everybody knows that Vince Young can't throw the ball.

You have to admit that fact is very impressive. Not many Cal players have been on the all-ACC team.
It is strange in this passing oriented era of pro football that the Titans have become a run first team, and draft a running back in the first round. I just don't see this helping them get much better, but maybe it will.

I edited the O.P cause it said Tyrell Hawkins, Not Lavelle.

And youre right. He should have said 3,4, and 5's. We really do not have a 2 at all. But i dont think we can even develop a 2 without a 1.

You need that 1 so that he can catch a double coverage leaving the 2 open most of the time. Thats what really makes and defines a 2. So i guess without a 1, you cant even have a 2.

I think Gage or Williams could both be decent two's if they are playing opposite a Moss or Rice or Keyshawn in his prime, or Ocho Cinco. But the 1 would have to be really good.

Is Gage or Williams a lot worse than say, Alvin Harper, who was a really good 2 and sucked when he left the cowboys.

This guy is going to be the greatest WR we have ever seen

OK, Lavelle Hawkins, it's time to live up to the hype ... er, your hype. Hawkins is the wide receiver who announced at the combine that "I can pretty much do it all. I would say I'm a combination of Terrell Owens, slash Anquan Boldin, slash Chad Johnson, slash Steve Smith." Asked how he will fare reading coverages, he said, "I would say on a scale of 1 to 10, I'm a 10."

I left out the last sentence because, well, it didn't need to be included in the first place.

one good wide receiver can make a world of differnece on a team...see texans last year with and then without andre johnson. vy will be a free agent in 3 years, i think he is gone...if the titans dont destroy his career before then....

The Titans don't have a good number 2 receiver. Heck I doubt any of their receivers are good enough to be a 3rd receiver this year. I thought they should have traded their 1st round pick for a high 2nd round pick and a 4th round pick or something and grabbed a good receiver with the 2nd round pick. But I guess rb was a more glaring need. And can anyone explain why they drafted a tight end?
