Has anyone been affected by this? If so please contact APD. Please be careful leaving your car overnight near the avenue B area. It was more of the same last night. You can google this and there's some info on it.

Does your toilet have an intergoogles link up for updates or something? If so we can hack into it and affect water temperature, flow and things like that.

This has happened to a couple areas within a couple of miles of Avenue B. Apartment complexes and neighborhoods have been hit. Total ******** and likely HS kids.

Somebody needs to camp out in their truck with their shotgun and scare the **** out of these *******.
I HATE that juvenile **** with a passion. We didn't even do that and we were pretty juvenile.

That raises a question. If your car is in your yard and you catch somebody slashing your tires with a weapon, can you kill them dead as a roach in a Raid Roach Hotel? Does Castle protect this?

No, I am not advocating somebody kill them, just asking. To what extent can you use this new law? I am thinking of the gentleman, I think in Houston, that killed guys stealing from his neighbors house and beat the court case.

Funny...I lived in that area in '90 and '91 when I was finishing up at UT. Thought it was the safest, most neighborly place to live. Then my apartment was broken into, and everything of value was taken - even my SNL Best of Eddie Murphy tape.

If you are on my property slashing my tires with a knife and I catch you doing it, the second you stand up I interpret that as you are charging me with a knife to kill me. Sorry for your family but you are done. I may go ahead and sue them for the replacement of my tires, however. I don't expect to win but hey, you are a shitbird for slashing tires.

You have a person with a knife and said knife has slashed tires. If I am on a jury, no way in hell I convict the shooter if he takes out the slasher, er, attacker with the knife.

To further explain and maybe generalize a bit think about it like this. It could be an innocent intended juvenile prank by bored kids not thinking of the big picture. That would explain an isolated incident. But given the many times this has happened I think of it as a stepping stone to grander things on the ne'erdogood scale in time.

I think it is fair to say that if you hold them there till the cops come they could turn and attack you. They could also hold revenge on their minds v. you for turning them into the cops. Instead of taking responsibility for their actions, they blame you for being in trouble. This is common in criminals of various levels. ****,it is common in daily life. People blame others for their actions.

So if that is possible, what is their move for revenge on you? Maybe dog **** on your porch? Maybe key your car? Maybe a little fire in your tool shed? Who knows what the thought process is for some turd who had no problem slashing dozens of tires over a period of time. What is harmless or fair revenge on you? You know they already carry a knife or sharp object.

If they make a movement to me when they are caught and they are in my yard...what ifi is is you and your yard, your family, your possessions?

In today's world, it is so easy to have cameras set up and record, anyone is stupid to keep on with this. A video camera recording them will work much better than a gun.

I would advocate the camera solution as well - having recently renovated I was stunend how cheap a good camera system can be. I can sit up in my third floor lair watching 6 different camera's on my TV screen like Doctor evil.

Unfortunately I can't pan my cameras by remote control to track birds or invading cats becaus that was too expensive,

yeah...a Harris County jury certainly wouldn't indict. here's how the aforementioned statute reads:

§ 9.42. Deadly Force to Protect Property

A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:

(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and

(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:

(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or

(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and

(3) he reasonably believes that:

(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or

(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

I glanced at 9.41, didn't look to see how criminal mischief is defined by the code. I would guess that the tire slashing in question would probably qualify.

groverat, I know how I react in those situations, it is not hyping up. I know that if I catch somebody on my property doing **** like that and they have a knife or something, they are told not to move and they do, it is taken as coming at me.

We have lived in different places and seen different things, I guess. I dont want to kill anybody and I hope I never have to be confronted with that situation. I have insurance to cover the tires, that is not my concern. My concern is the ******* with a sharp instrument and a stong desire to not get caught or go to jail. The same stupid ******* who thinks it a good idea to destroy peoples property in this fashion.

Again, I don't plan on killing a person near my car or passing by. I would be pretty got damned sure what was going on. And I truly hope never to have this be an issue.
