bloons

can't get past level 60.

lets talk strategy. i think the main goal is to get a super monkey with plasma vision that is towards the front of where the bloons enter so he can waste them more quickly. the more super monkeys the better. i've found putting tack shooters in the inside of curves can take out quite a few bloons.

i think the key is getting super monkeys and upgrading them as quickly as possible. the most i've seen is 3 all upgraded to plasma vision.

The Supermonkeys are key. If you can work them in conjunction with the freezers, you're money. I had three and was about to get a fourth when I mad a mouse clicking FAIL and didn't get to do the mokey attack which would have gotten me up to four monkeys.

The tack shooters are great, especially around curves, and be sure to put a couple toward the end of the track to catch stragglers. I start with them, usually close to the beginning, and the next goal is to get some catapults and a couple of bomb launchers. The up graded catapults take a lot of **** out, and you need the bombers for the iron balloons and other general mayhem. Cluster together as much as possible so you can put in satellites to increase fire rates, and set a few to prioritize on the end of the train. When things start getting overwhelmed, drop glue. I put the super monkeys toward the rear because their range is phenomenal.

The general strategy I employ is to try and avoid using the disposable assets as much as possible. Referring to the tacks and glue. That's why I position a pin shooter towards the rear, so I don't have to run over drop tacks for a single bloon. This allows you to build up more coin for upgrades and more battle stations.

Anyone figure out the use of the freezing the balloons?

I don't like the boomerang thing, seems to be worthless compared to the others.

It seems like the tacks would be the best thing to start with, but I find myself only using 1 or 2 (in key corners where they can take out several at once). The dart monkeys are cheaper and two of them at the beginning means I don't have to worry until level 10 or so, and can let the money pile up. Also, I can later upgrade them to shoot darts that kill 2 or 3 bloons at once, which makes them pretty powerful for the price.

I also generally avoid disposable assets, but there is one combo I like if things are getting really hairy. First I put down 2 glues in a row, then when the bloons start piling up in traffic like it's I-35, one simple exploding pineapple kills the whole lot of them.

Anyone else having issues in later levels with slow down? or is just my machine?

Thanks for the info on the ice machine. I was trying to figure out the point if they became immune to darts, but I put one up front with a bomber, and put the bomber on "Last" priority, and it worked out well.

I made a mistake on level 59 last night. I got too giddy with the pineapple bombs, and didn't have enough dough to call in a super monkey squad. and got over run. almost there...

I also think it's good to put one ice ball at the very beginning of the path and give it the PermaFrost upgrade. This way, every single bloon will have to traverse the entire length of the map at reduced speed.

Really, you can do the whole thing with just a couple of monkeys (regular) and bomb launchers.

Set your first monkey on "Last", buy him both razor upgrades and put him on a straight line right lined up with where the balloons start. You can usually make it through the first couple of levels with just this one. By level 3, you'll need a second monkey further in the puzzle set on "first" with both vision upgrades and both razor upgrades. Unless you want a third, you need to start saving up money for bomb launchers.

Place each launcher on the inside of a turn. Don't worry about upgrades until you have at least 4 or 5. At that point buy the big explosives for the guys in the front, and the vision/missles for the guys in the back.

Keep adding launchers everytime you have cash. Favor them in the curves at the beginning of the map... but you'll need to spread some around over most of the map. By the time you hit level 30, the screen should be pretty full of launchers. If you deploy them just right, you can prevent all but the MOABs from reaching the second half of the map at all. By level 42ish, stop buying launchers for a while, and start setting up freezers at regular points along the path (particularly at the end of the map), 4-5 of these can help tremendously on levels 49-50... that said, I've beaten all four maps with just 3-4 monkeys and a crapload of launchers.

Yeah, this game is very addictive. I have been playing for hours now. I can't get past level 62. Too many MOABs. I use mostly tack shooters and launchers. I tried the super monkey, but overall seems like a waste of money. The super monkey wave launch is nice though.

Ah, I beat the most twisty (ie easiest) map. Didn't use a monkey beacon - saving the money up for a Super Monkey I think was better.

I still start out with dart monkeys but those tack shooters are awesome with the blade upgrade and that's not too expensive of a boost. And the catapults - I took the advice here and lined them up with the longest stretches of straight track and WOW what an effect. Setting the priority helps too, I hadn't even realized you could do that.

Fun game. I can get into round 62 on the first maze but can't get thru it. Unless I wanted to completed liquidate all assets and bring in monkey storm after monkey storm. that might get you to 63.

I past 60!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's how I did it.

In the early rounds I bought a new tack shooter as soon as I could afford one. Eventually I had 12 or 13 of them scatterd all along the course in the strategic curves. They are a good buy at 305. You can sell them back later for 288, so the net cost is only 17 each. Don't bother with the upgrades.

A nice array of tack shooters will get you past a lot of levels without a lot of cost. When some lead (grey) bloons attack, you'll have to drop a pineapple bomb on them to get started since they are immune to sharp objects, but otherwise, try to avoid using any money on temporary measures like monkey glue or road spikes. You may have to use a road spike once or twice at the end of the road, but that's it.

Now just sit back and save some money for a super monkey. Buy a super monkey and place him in that nice spot just right and above center where he'll have lots of targets in his range. Sell a tack shooter if necessary to make room. Let him go to work for a while and make you some money. Upgrade him to laser vision, and then plasma vision, as soon as possible. Don't bother extending his range. Save that money for more plasma vision monkeys.

Buy a second super monkey and place him below the entrance where his range will cover the entrance above him and the leftward bound bloon run below him. Sell any remaining tack shooters to pay for upgrades to laser, then plasma, vision. Set his target priorty as "last". During some later rounds i toggled his target priority to "first" to let him blast away at any bloons that snuck past the first three monkeys.

A third monkey goes on the right hand side where he can blast bloons on their initial slide to the right, headed downward from the top right corner of the screen plus blast some rogue bloons that might get close to the exit. Get him to plamsma as soon as possible.

i put a fourth monkey in the top left corner so he could shoot a constant stream of plasma at the bloons as they enter, even though I set his target priorty as "first".

This set up will take you a long way. Use glue and pineapple bombs to assist your monkeys, but don't go overboard. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!

At level 60, I had about 7,000 in the bank. I dropped a crap load of pineapples all along the course at the very beginning of round 60. I laid down a gauntlet of spikes that covered all the curved part of the road at the bottom. I used TONS of glue after that all along the bottom left road and the bottom horizontal section where the bloons travel leftward. Then I started a shock and awe campaign of pineapple bombs all over the rest of the course to help out my monkeys. It worked. I passed 60, but I probably spend a bit more than I had too. . I had about 2,000 left in the bank for 61. Not enough to get me through. i was going good for a while on 61, but ran out of cash and four plasma monkeys couldn't finish it on their own.

monkey storm does nothing to moabs.

pineapples are your friends. I drop loads of them at the beginning of the track, especially as traffic gets congested. they pay for themselves in those situations. clicking once every couple of seconds will really clear the field.

Bernard how does your strategy survive against the MOAB on level 37? Assloads of cannons are the only thing I've found that can defeat it.

OK. I just played level 37 again. I had on plasma SM in that little area just right and above center. I had one regular SM below the front gate. I dropped three pineapples on the MOAB. I'm not sure they had any effect. Plasma monkey took care of the rest.

Level 65 is as far as i can get. SO far, the best strategy i have found is basically as many tack shooters as you can, mixed in with like 8 or 9 launchers. On the later levels you have to use pineapples to kill moabs.

OK. I just did 37 again with no pineapples. One plasma SM and one regular SM did the job with no help from me.
