Boy, that layoff has really effected his game.

I watched a good deal of the match with Clark. Tiger played well but not as good as he did on Wednesday. It was a tight match the 1st 12 holes. Woods had some good opportunities and I saw at least 2 puts right on line stop like 6 inches from the hole. Had he convered 1 or 2 of those he would have been in better position.

But that kept the match even and then around hole 12 Clark really turned it on. He was hitting the green routinely and putting the ball in very makeable birdie position just about every time. Woods on the other hand started missing fairways and thus his 2nd shots were not on target. Part of this was the pressure that Clark was putting on b/c Woods knew he had to get it right next to the hole every time and some of those shots he was hitting from the rough or the sand. Not a good position to be in. Obviously there some issues there that started off the tee and he will go back and fix those.

His short game though was spectacular. He holed one out on 15 I believe from the sand. He nearly holed one out from the rough on 16 but it didn't go and the match was over. His putting was pretty darned good.

So 2 out of 4 phases looked good to great and other 2 were a little shaky at times. Had Clark had an off day Tiger could have found a way to win but Clark was just on.

In the end this is good for Tiger b/c he can get some rest and it did allow him to play 2 rounds at a high level and figure out what he needs to work on.
