Tiger

I don't know; but if there was a "Tiger will top Jack" thread right about now, would people still be crazy enough to think he can't do it?

BEST EVER!

2 courses suit Tiger's game immensely: Augusta, and TP. If he plays Birkdale like he did Hoylake, he should have no trouble. Oakland Hills will be the toughest for him.

I think he can do it, but I also think he needs some intangibles to go his way. Most importantly, the weather.

Tiger can do it, but it won't happen.

He's the best. No doubt. But, no one will ever win the Grand Slam with the competition that there is now.

I would never bet against him doing it

hes already done the Tiger slam. Its not like he hasnt come very close

I have to agree. It is one of the hardest things to do, but if anyone could do it it would be Tiger. He is playing with much more consistency now than he has before, except for 2000. If this continues he could do it. But I'll just take them one at a time and speculate after he gets the 1st 2 in the bag. Until then it really isn't worth discussing.

There is little doubt that Tiger will top 50 wins. The big thing is he has a career to do that. He can be hot or cold at various times and still top the all times win list. The thing about the Grand Slam is NOT only does Tiger have to play GREAT on four different courses in one year, but he has to play great on 4 specific weekends. Even if Tiger does that the ONE factor that Tiger can't control is if someone else has a HOT weekend. Say Tiger has 16 rounds of good to great golf. (relatively speaking. I mean not a single BAD or even average rounds). He has to do that to win all 4. Then there has to be NO one else in the field that has a GREAT 4 rounds... this is why the Grand Slam is so hard. It is NOT just Tiger v. the course or one other person. It is Tiger against the course against the entire field where only ONE player has to play a great 4 rounds.

he's on his way to 100 wins, and i doubt you'd get much action on him not doing it. grand slam is so difficult that i'd never predict anyone doing it even as well as tiger's playing. but it wouldn't surprise me. .

the masters is his to lose, as is the us open (assuming his tee to green play is still going as well as he's shown early on). the british can be anyone's game depending on weather conditions. and if he gets the first 3, nothing short of a serious injury will keep him from winning the pga.

Tiger is the favorite at the Masters year in and year out. If he wins that one then the talk of a possible Grand Slam will start. If he wins the US Open then the talk will really start taking hold. Since the US Open, British Open, and PGA are all within a relative short time frame of one another if Tiger then were to be playing well I would think he would have a great shot at doing this. He has won these 3 in a row before.

Tiger can add another trophy, along with another highlight-reel winning putt, to his portfolio. That putt today on 18 to win the Arnie Invitational was a thing of beauty.

Was there any doubt he was hitting that? The only other person I have been this confident in when it comes to clutch time is MJ. Tiger is just crazy good.

He's already murdering. 3 in a row and hasn't lost in 7 months.

2008:
#1 Arnold Palmer Invitational
#1 WGC Accenture Match Play
#1 Dubai (worldwide win)
#1 Buick
end of 2007:
#1 Target World Challenge (Unofficial event)
Presidents Cup (USA #1)
#1 The Tour Championship
#1 BMW Championship
T2 Deutsche Bank
#1 PGA
#1 WGC Bridgestone

I don't think the weather is an obstacle for him, he is his only obstacle. If the weather is bad for him it is bad for others. He is still head and shoulders better than anybody else so if he is on his game, he overcomes the weather. He is accurate and has amazing finesse on the short game. So I think that is his only obstacle.

what's awesome is how pumped he was to sink that putt, so fing competitive.

I don't think I've ever watched a more clutch athlete ever (including MJ as he would be the only one that could come close)
