Tiger Woods will have Season-Ending Knee Surgery

A big blow to the networks, but I'm sure some of the other tour players now feel like their chances of winning The British or The PGA have greatly increased. Sucks that he won't be available for The Ryder Cup either.

As awesome as Woods is, and based on Monday's performance I'd say he's more awesome than ever, based on history I don't think you can say this is a big loss for the Ryder Cup team.

Of course it's a HUGE loss for the tour and any golf fans looking forward to watching the British Open and PGA, no matter who you normally pull for.

that just puts what he did last weekend/monday as arguably the greatest individual accomplishment in sports.

I'd put Roy Hobbs' homerun above this. Tiger didn't have a bullet lodged in his knee did he? Hmmmmm?

Amazing that Tiger knew he was injured before the tournament, said he would play anyways and predicted a win, never complained about the pain b/c he knew it was his decision to play thru the pain, gritted out and won.

Had he just reinjured himself somewhere during the tournament like many thought that could have still been the top performance off all-time. Knowing that he knew he was injured before hand, played thru it, made it worse, never complained, etc........that will never be bested.

That hogan story is right there too, I agree. I knew there had to be similar feats in various sports, thus the "arguably."

When Tiger doesn't play i usually don't watch. So I'll probably do the same rest of year and just kind of follow online, but not actually watch the tournaments on TV. 'bout only thing that would get me to tune in is a very close lederboard in one of the final 2 majors.

Retief Goosen is going to get his tail handed to him when Tiger gets back, IF Goosen can actually play well enough to get in a group with Tiger. Seriously, that will be an epic beat down and I hope it happens. Tiger always demolishes those who speak out against him.

Goosen was out of line anyway and I am so glad he has pie on his face now.

What is really amazing about this story with Tiger is that he has played with a torn ACL for 10 MONTHS. During that time he has played 13 tournaments, winning 10, finishing 2nd in two and 5th in the other.

For him to know about the tibia, refuse doctors orders and call the victory is simply amazing. WOW is all you can say.
