What a great interview. I really liked the last 3 or 4 minutes. Van Pelt ask him several questions with a or b answers.

Kobe or LeBron? LeBron

LeBron or MJ? MJ

Is it close? No

Stanford winning NCAA Championship or the Lakers winning NBA? Stanford.

19 majors (one more than Jack) or 100 victories? 19

17 majors (one less than Jack) or 100 victories? 19

The follow up on that is awesome too.

Last one:

Tiger or Jack? Me

He is the greatest of all time, but you have to have confidence in yourself.

Very good interview!

I know the majors are important, blah blah blah, but I really think it's overdone. People act like winning 1 major is more importnat than winning 10 tour events or something like that.

IT's nice to win major's but some real scrubs have won them as well. Nobody that's a scrub gets to double digit vicotries on tour. Triple digits is unfathonable to me.

I blame Jack for all this, and his fixation on the majors. Really, it was just about them having the biggest purse around back in the day. I don't know- it seems like winning and winning a lot on the tour gets marginalized nowadays.

Wulaw,
I think a lot of it has to do with the field as well. Usually the field at a major is the best of the very best. I know that is what Tiger likes. Even if it isn't a major he only plays in tourny's that have superstar fields.
I agree to some degree though. I think 100 tour victories is crazy and to minimize that at all is even crazier.

We are a fast food society now and eye popping major victories seem more impressive than the win total. Plus many use the majors as a benchmark to prove greatness...we see it on here all the time about how Tiger isn't the GOAT if he doesn't win 19 majors, etc. Whereas he'll have the win total in just a few short seasons likely.

I actually think his record at the WGC events is his most impressive stat thus far. Not to compare him to other generations but just to look at the field he competes against at the WGC events (as good or better than some majors) and his total domination of those events.

And his nearly 30% win% on the PGA tour and worldwide.
