New notice from TexasSports.com, annual renewal applications are available:

2013 Ticket Prices

• Season tickets: Tier 1- $405, Tier 2- $395, Tier 3- $325

Have I been missing something? Since when do we have tiered ticket prices? Of course, when I go fill out my renewal application, my price per season ticket is already selected and I can't change it. To top it off, I can't find anywhere on TS.com or LHF as to what sections of the stadium are represented in each tier.

Someone else posted that its just a matter of time before LHF raises their minimum donation level or something to that effect. Well, here we go. Looks like they are starting with ticket prices. Next thing you know (God, I hope not), they will assign a minimum donation levels per section. That will price our family out of attending games and make home games even more of a corporate event than they already are.

That's what we need to beat TCU and WVU at home. more money! Pretty soon we'll be winning in Waco,

The $405 Tier amounts to $67.50/ticket/game. That is very close to what it has been in the past.

The tiers are to get people to buy the crappy tickets and if you have ever sat in the upper part of that upper deck you know what I mean.

I know tOSU does that. Talking to what few polite fans they had in Columbus that weekend, they don't like it because they never end up with the same seats from year to year.

It's all about greeeeeeeed...

Question: I stumbled upon a club under section 10 or so. They serve alcohol. Admittance was limited to certain seating sections. Where can I find out more about these clubs and what sections I need to be sitting in??

Curious as to what is the green strip - $395 above the $405 in the NEZ chair backs. The only area I know above the $405 Chairbacks is the club.

So, the value of a seat in the west upper deck, first 17 rows versus row 18+ is $10.00? Good to know. Really? $10.00?

Since the 1990's ND has 10x your donation level twice. My Aunt used to have to donate $100/year. They made it $1000/year in the early mid-90's. 4-5 years ago they did it again, her annual donation is now $10,000/year for average seats at best.

I think Texas would have a riot if they tried to do something like that at a State school. I would be out as a donor and as a fan as well.

I could see a 10% increase every few years, but 10x the amount, that would be crazy!!

There really is not a bad seat in west upper deck. Just a bit of distance from the field. Not understanding why row 18 in sect 102 is $325.00 and row 18 in sect 103 is $395. I am a $405.00 west upper deck, but not sure why across the aisle between 102 & 103 is a $70.00 difference. I could see the last 15 rows being a $70.00 difference. Rows 40 thru 55, but no change in price for rows 18-39 in any of the sections of the upper west deck. I dont really see the need for tiered ticket prices, but they should make sense.

I agree that it looks like this is being done to get more season tickets sold. All tickets regardless of location were $395 last year; now the lowest price is $325.

Please note that club seats were not any more expensive per se, just the added and unavoidable "food surcharge" of $25 per game, which made the tickets $575 in 2010. texassports.com

I do not know what club seats cost last year or in 2011 (the texassports.com links I googled for those years did not include the price), but what is not clear is whether those club seats are now slightly lower in price than before, or whether that $555 does not include the food surcharge, which would make them more expensive.

That $70-or-so discount from previous pricing for those relatively few discounted seats will be made up (and then some) by charging more to others.

It appears this is preferable (for the athletics administration) to selling discounted individual game seats when there isn't as much demand the week before the game, as Texas did in at least a couple games last year. The upside is that one hopes there won't be any more "Boy Scout Nights" or "High School discounts" or some such that frankly were embarrassing.

I do not disagree with this new pricing policy, but like others, it unnerves me as to what other changes this might portend.

Thanks Taps! I did research those clubs on the Foundation Web site (

Major), but I didn't notice this little tidbit • The Terrace Club is located just below/behind the seats on the sixth floor concourse level. There are several bars along with different food options available for purchase.

Some of you guys need to chill out. This site is like a conversation among friends not a high school debate. If you need to run rough-shot over something, buy a Chihuahua.

Stupid Questions get stupid reponses, you really need to be spoonfed that much?

Quite lucky that Taps doesn't have much to do today as nobody is picking on him yet.......

As of last month, the T room is still there. It is not mentioned because you can't buy entrance - you have to have lettered to get in.

As the owner of tickets in the lowest and second lowest pricing tier, IMHO this really needed to be done.

When I couldn't attend one of the craptastic games, I was reduced to almost giving my tickets away. When I did go to those bad games, the upper north EZ was half empty.

When people don't go to the game, concessions revenue suffers. And from the non-revenue perspective, the energy level is lower and the home field advantage is mitigated when seats are empty.

I don't think it will have much impact on resale of better seats because (my experience) a lot of people would rather pay an extra $30/ticket than to sit upstairs.

I wasn't going to renew on one or both of my blocks of seats, but now I might.
