Thrown in jail for restoring software and recycling parts

Pfft. Like Microsoft would ever do that.

I remember in the ’90s when Microsoft was the big dog, buying up smaller companies that had a good idea/product in a market area where MS was working, and then just shut the company down. See a potential competitor emerging? Buy ’em and close ’em. Problem solved.

All the big tech companies do that. I was acquired into Microsoft in '00. They acquired the company as much for it's employees as the product though they still sell the product today. The retention bonuses were lucrative, especially for someone like me who was new in their career.
