AUSTIN, Texas — Three Texas football players tested positive for COVID-19 during its Sunday testing, a source close to the situation told Horns247.

A source said the team had scheduled the day off from practice Sunday before the team did it's COVID-19 testing.

If that's the case, it proved convenient, because three players ended up testing positive when the team went through its Sunday COVID-19 testing, the source said.

It's undetermined at this point how the positive tests will impact the rest of the team or the Longhorns upcoming game next Saturday at Kansas.

Texas (6-3, 5-3 Big12) beat Kansas State 69-31 in Manhattan, Kansas, Saturday.

Texas said in a press release Sunday afternoon:

"Texas Football had three student-athletes and two staff members whose COVID-19 tests were negative on Friday, travel with the team to Kansas State for Saturday’s game, before testing positive on Sunday. Per the recommendation of the Texas Athletics medical staff, the team and staff have been sent home for the day on Sunday and all team activities have been paused. They will test again tomorrow and then on Tuesday at which time a determination and plan for potential return to activities will be made."

So, as usual, no symptoms. Someone making a lot of money on all these tests. So, test people who aren't sick, then make a big deal if they have a virus.

I expect the usual people to disagree with or poo my comment. So what? This is all beyond absurd.

Just goes to show how well all the so-called protocols are working. All a bunch of BS.

HIC,

Please settle down. The Dems won the election, so the "testing" is going to increase as will the price. Allows for more and better kickbacks.

I’d say if these are the first positives for the team and staff their protocols have been pretty effective. On the absurdity component I have no comment cause on that we probably agree.

Meaning, they aren't "sick". Strict protocols and you still can't prevent a virus from doing what viruses do: Spread and infect people. thing is, only this virus causes undue panic and absurd restrictions. I know you agree lol.
