Three guys we need to get into the ISU game

Fellow Hornfans, we have possibly lost two nearly indispensable players through injury. The injury to Cochran hurts also but not as much as losing Ash and Hicks.

This is what must be done in the the upcoming game with Iowa State.

A. Get Tyrone Swoopes and Overstreet into the game. NO EXCUSES THIS TIME MACK BROWN..........PERIOD!!!! We are skating on thin ice with Case McCOY and the opposition knows he has trouble throwing deep and that shrinks the field for opposing defenses. Overstreet should be utilized on Wildcats, kickoff and punt returns. Also speed sweeps which we have not seen since Daje was hurt.

B. It is time that Aaron Bensen's light to come on with the loss of Hicks ( hope he gets another medical) . Edmonds has got to step his game nationwide to the level of Santos. We need a new leader and quarterback of the linebackers and defense that can communicate with the front four and the back four.

Greg Robinson has a big job on his hands to get done.

He got a bad groin pull last year in the Ole Miss game which was three in. Did he get a shirt for that year?

Hicks isn't an answer at LB. As talented as he is, he just cannot stay healthy for more than a few games at a time. Sad to see him so injury prone and I wish him the best.

Aaron Benson? He's a wasted 'ship from the Muschamp days. The only reason he's on the squad is because Mack vowed to not let any Coach Boom commits bolt when Will left for UF. He's basically a practice squad and special teams player.

I agree that a LB needs to step it up, but it should be the guys who already get playing time that should be turning a corner. Jinkens, Thompson, and Jackson come to mind. And if not them, play one of the redshirt freshmen.

What is it that makes Aaron a lost cause and a wasted scholarship?

Maybe Diaz and his poor coaching are the reasons we have not got much production from Aaron. Remember, this a guy with bloodlines back to one of the Horns best running backs of all time.

Maybe you have given up on him but with our need for good linebackers, I am pretty sure Robinson can turn him into a solid player.

At least I hope he can.

Well, I never said lost cause, because sometimes players have a habit of surprising you. But wasted scholarship? For sure. Muschamp was going after several Central Texas LB recruits, with Chet Moss and Aaron Benson being the sweet grabs. Based on how well either of them have played, can you honestly say that they're worth one of the 85 roster spots? Benson has been nothing more than an occasional special teamer, and not even that for long periods of time.

Won't disagree with you there, but good players see the field whether or not they're coached up. Michael Huff is a good example. He was a bonehead when he got a ton of playing time as a redshirt freshman. He nearly cost us the 2002 Oklahoma State game with his personal foul calls. But did he play? Hell yes. We needed his talent out there. He obviously wasn't "coached" to the point of eliminating stupid play, but his speed, hits, and eye for the plays were undeniable. Has Benson showed anything like that?

"Remember, this a guy with bloodlines back to one of the Horns best running backs of all time."

Well, if that's the rule, then Case McCoy would be lighting it up as well.

Good stuff Horns11. Very good answers on all points. But I am still hoping that Aaron makes it happen. I am so sick to my stomach of highly rated wannabes that do not pan out that I could just
