Three game series with Rice?

Great idea. This rivalry is becoming the baseball equivalent of the old pre-Big12 Texas-OU.

Very entertaining prospect. The weekday games always have an asterisk, because neither team usually has their first line pitching available, at least for more than two or three innings. A regular three game series? That's more like it. And it would develop the rivalry into an even bigger one.

Just curious why they have to wait until 2011. Why not next season. Are the schedules already made out this far in advance? Will Augie and Wayne still be coaching at that point?

The schedule is made that far in advance for certain games you know you will play every year like Stanford and Rice, as well as the Minute Maid Classic every other year (for us).

As for coaching longevity, I think Augie will be around at least till the end of his contract, which is 2014 I believe. He'll be 75 then, but I think the university would give him an extension if he was still winning and still wanted to stay.

Graham ... who knows? He is 3 years older than Augie and doesn't seem to get around nearly as well as Augie, so I'd say he's a lot closer to retirement.

It will take a lot for them to overcome the play Omar made. But I suppose we should be sporting and give them a chance.

Omar's play was truly awesome, but part of me would have liked to see him earhole that geezer.

You know that 'geezer' played for Texas? Plus any other person in the third base box probably would have attempted to break up the play.

Wayne is for real in my book.
