Thoughts on UK game

Barnes said after the game that "we have a really good team." He was very pleased the toughness and heart shown by our guys. I agree with him on both counts.

Especially in one of the toughest arenas in the country.

This game demonstrated how critical Taylor is to our offense. We really missed his drives and scoops. He is the only guard we have who can do decently well among the trees. And KU has some serious trees down low.

On a neutral court, with Taylor playing point, we make it a very interesting game.

If there is such a thing as a "good loss," this was one. I don't think we drop much, if any, in the polls.

Three names come to mind: Holland, Holmes & Lammert. Wow, they keep getting better! I remember not being overly impressed when Holland and Lammert were first signed. They are quickly turning into my favorite players.

I'm not sure anyone is giving UK the credit they deserve. They should handily win the tourney this year unless they have some sort of brain fart game.

As a P.S. to this thread, after the smoke has cleared, last night (Wed, 12/11), Columbia led most of the 1st half and actually had the lead AT half by 2 points over Kentucky, AT Kentucky.

The Ivy League, with Yale following the Horns by beating UConn at Storrs, and Columbia playing Kentucky to a 10 point final, took a little sheen off of Texas' Northeastern tour.
