Since I was at the game, I feel the duty to post my pissed off thoughts about how useless our bigs were. DJ has to start looking for the easy pass down to the block. He had multiple opportunities to pass to Atchley and Johnson but apparently didn't see it (the most aggriegous offense was when Johnson was actually hopping up and down, waving his arms at DJ while being wide open). I don't understand why Barnes didn't try to put Pittman in at the beginning of the second half with Johnson and let the two of them bang it out with Tech.
Even the local sports media here (which is biased as hell) will admit Tech has problems defending the post. I also can't understand why Barnes insisted on running high screen after high screen for DJ when it was obvious that Tech's perimeter defense was too quick for nearly all the screens Atchley and Wangmene set. TRY SOMETHING ELSE! That's not to say that Texas didn't show heart at the end of the game but they should never have gotten down by 14 in the first place.
I hope Dustin gets his *** chewed again long and hard for the dumb technical foul. As far as the crowd was concerned, that was the changing point. The four point play completely rejuvenated Tech and we were never the same after that. Actually, up till then it seemed like Texas was toying with Tech and I felt like we were on the verge of blowing Tech out. Momentum... what a killer.
