The inconsistent, though still dangerous, Frogs have put up some points on the scoreboard (34 vs. Purdue, 38 vs. SMU, 51 vs. KU), so Patterson is probably licking his chops after viewing our D on film. True Freshman Max Duggan Returns :smile1: from a narrow loss to KSU to take a crack at our secondary. Duggan is a dual-threat QB with decent wheels, a bit of power, and an outstanding stiff arm move. (see links below)

TCU QB Max Duggan reels off incredible 46-yard TD run (Video)

Texas Christian's offense is well balanced with 239.5 yards rushing per game and 202 yards passing per game. They also lead time of possession 33:54 to 26:06 for opponents, so they like to grind it out and methodically move the chains (sort of like us). Reagor's an all-star WR. Covering Reagor will be a major challenge, even if we were healthy in the D-backfield (and we're not). They're starting 2 Sophomores and 3 Seniors on the OL, and have given up 13 sacks this year (2.17 sacks per game). Not good, but not terrible, and better than us (22 sacks, 3.14 sacks per game). Our anemic pass rush will at least have a fair shot to improve, although containment against Duggan is an important concern.

The flip side is that good offenses are lighting up the scoreboard on the Frogs D (41 SMU, 49 ISU). That's something we're good at. We'll probably see our Horns run our methodical move-the-chains offense, racking up some big offensive #s and keeping the Frogs off the field.

I say we take 'em. I expect to see a lot of burnt orange in the stands at Amon Carter too!

How many of their starters grew up wanting to be Longhorns and have a seething desire now to show why they should have been recruited? That is the biggest question.

And Patterson has a real knack for identifying the diamonds in the rough, and developing them.

I don't think anyone will overlook this game. There simply aren't any games left that we can pencil in an easy W. Every last game left will be a trap game. In fact, we opened as the underdog here, and likely will at Baylor too. It should be a hard fought battle this Saturday in Ft Worth. A turnover, a muffed kick return, or an off game by Dicker, could sink us. Otherwise, I think we win.

Yep, no game is an easy W from here for sure. After the OU game, that I and others said felt like a 28 point loss, I was amazed at how cavalier this board was at assuming we would have a rematch with OU and that many think we could actually win it.

I see losses to TCU and Baylor, and maybe Tech and ISU.

I'm not quite so pessimistic. But sunshine pumping is prevalent among many around here, no doubt. Every remaining game will be tough. Take them one at a time.

And why don't we just play each game as it comes and give it our all, rather than start counting losses to whomever because we're just doomed!
