Thoughts on AM Series ...

This 3 game set is gonna show me all I need to see about this '08 team. For the past few weeks I've been watching the guys improve/grow confidence ... we'll see where we stand by Sunday afternoon.

IMO, we have improved in all 3 areas since the OSU debacle, then you add in the Russell factor :

#1 - Ruffin has emerged as a bonafide ace. Kenn has knocked the rust off and is starting to resemble the pitcher that won as a freshman in Omaha.

#2 - We finally got the infield situated. Torres to DH, Clark is playing well at 3rd, Tucker to 2nd. And quietly, Hernandez has turned into a pretty solid SS over the past month or so.

#3 - We have begun doing the "Augie" things. Moving guys over ... getting timely 2 strike hits ... getting 2 out RBI's. Friday in Waco was a thing of beauty. Like 8 of our runs came with 2 outs.

#4 - Kyle is back to being a feared man in the middle of the line-up. No more hitting .220, with 1 HR.

It may be my blind optimism, but I get the sense that the puzzle pieces are getting aligned at just the right time. The talent on this team has never been disputed, but now they are actually using it.

I honestly think that the better we play this weekend, the better chance we have of being sent somewhere close for Regionals. It appears that the Houston Regional is once again a possibility.

Let's at least take care of things tonight, I want no part of A&M celebrating a Big XII title on our field.

Well I was at the Weds game ... there was no tarp.

Most of us have tickets anyways, but we really wanted to enjoy some brews while watcing the game.

I can't imagine UT would put up the effort to tarp the fence for one game ... and this game is completely sold out, so they are not losing any money by having people out there.

Could somebody please tell me the times of the games. And, will it be on the radio, if so what station.

Sorry to sound so ignorant

6 ... 6:30 ... 1 pm. Prob all on 1300 AM.

Just drove by the stadium. Green Monster being repaired. No more hospitality tent over 3rd base. No tarp.

T-minus 2 hours before I trek back down.

BH - I agree completely. This IS the season. And with Ruffin leading the charge, tonight should be interesting. My body is here at the office, but my mind is in Section 101.

Fievel - sorry to hear you are in Collie Station. Once you get someplace with electricity, find a computer and go toThe Link

Big Bird is pitching tomorrow. Austin Wood is throwing tonight, which means the offense better be ready to hit the ball.

Thoughts? I'm thinking...SWEEP'EM!!!

If Kasparek holds true to his recent performances, there's no question A&M gets swept tomorrow. Texas has demoralized them in a big way, and it's going to take the Horns screwing up for the Aggies to get a win out of this series.

What a thrill the team has provided to end the season. Well done, horns! A sweep would be even sweeter, but taking the series from a top ten team (deservedly top ten) bodes very well.

ps This has been one of those crappy personal days when a Longhorn team has done something to make life a little sweeter. That is the way of the Longhorns.

My thoughts on the series? Justice was done, my friends. Makes up for the football debacle.
