Those Lexus Christmas commercials....

Is it the best gift ever 6 months later when they are 4.5 years into car payments at $700 per month?

One of the best parts about the Christmas gifts when you were little is you didn't have to keep paying for them or even pay for them at all.

The worst commercial is the girl that gets a pony and then her friend drops her toy pony. That is supposed to make me want to get a Lexus? I feel like the girl getting the pony is a spoiled brat. (although the commercial would be at least somewhat funny if it showed her same friend driving by in a piece of crap and seeing her friend get the Lexus and maybe running into a mailbox)

For the record, the best Christmas gift I ever got was a leather football. My Dad got a HS issue leather football and I wanted one forever. This was 22 years ago. I still have that ball.

Why do you assume they are sticking the giftee with the check? I'd think if it was a gift then it's paid for in full by the gifter.

One thing that bothers me about those commercials is that they don't even bother to match the eye color of the child actor to the adult actor. It seems pretty obvious that if you are going to zoom in right on their face and cut one from the child to the adult with no gap, you'd at least want their eye colors to match.

"Maybe next time, do a little research."

The kids are Goth and have tinted contacts.

The best pony one is the phone commercial where it eats the dog house.

The Lexus commercials are dumb. I was going to go buy one as a gift for somebody but now I am not. Good campaign. And a Big Wheel pwns a Lexus. Better turning radius, better traction, better handling as well. Let's not even mention mpg.

Princess got the blue eyes last Christmas, and the Lexus was still better. Now she can go show it to the girl who didn't get the pony and laugh at her again in front of the poor girl's therapist.

I am keeping a list of every automaker that chooses to use an "event" as their marketing plan. I will not buy a car from those makers if they choose to have an "event".

Lexus is at the top of the list of annoyance with the "December to Remember Sales Event". And Lexus should take notes, December was over 6 days ago so they can stop running those ads now.

If I hear "bigger in Texas better in a Dodge" just one more time I cannot be held responsible for my actions.

You have all been warned.
