Pretty much the perfect storm for Horns....we should be #1 this week in all the polls!

2. Texas, 4-0
3. GA Tech, 2-2
4. UVA, 5-0
5. LSU, 2-3

8. TCU, 3-1
9. Coastal Car, 4-0

We DO NOT need to be #1 right now. Better to hover around 3-6 until the last week in June. Give me a #2 or 3 national seed and I'll be happy.
 
Look, regardless of their national rank, the guys know they are playing at a high caliber. It is up to Augie, who does this better than anyone, to keep their egos in check.

Also, I don't want a Skip Berkman wannabe to put us out in Virginia for our super-regional.
 
Augie said in his interview after the game today, that he thought there was a good chance the Horns would be #1 tomorrow....and that it would present another challenge...hmm.

The Roadrunners won't care about that ranking on Tuesday....
 
I think Augie also expressed some confidence that the guys can handle it. His comments on a #1 ranking came right after he complimented the team on getting their focus back after the rocky stretch in 6-7.
 
The only thing that really matters is getting a Top 8 seed and hosting a Super Regional. It would be nice if they would put TCU into someone else's path. Not because I don't think that we can beat them (again), but because I'd like to see another team from Texas in Omaha (besides Rice).
 
You can guarantee that the NCAA will squeeze every Texas team into the Texas and TCU regionals and then pit the winners against each other, all in the name of geographic diversity. God forbid Texas sends more than one team to Omaha.

Not to get ahead of ourselves (plenty of ball left to play and knocking on wood), but I'd love to see LSU come to Austin for a super regional. That would be fun.
